Old-style courses seem to fit Hass' game

BETHESDA, Md. – Bill Haas has always pictured himself as an old-school type of player, so perhaps his list of winning courses is perfectly appropriate.

Haas earned his fifth career PGA Tour win Sunday at Congressional Country Club’s Blue Course, the venerable track which has hosted five major championships.

It came on the heels of wins at Riviera and East Lake during each of the last two years – and he maintains that there might be a good explanation for it.

“I enjoy them more. Maybe that's part of it,” he said. “You've got to enjoy what you're doing to play well. Maybe a little bit of a coincidence there, but I love Harbour Town, and I think I've made two out of eight cuts there, and that's an old style golf course as well.”
