Old TW versus Young TW

TURNBERRY, Scotland -- Colleague Rex Hoggard wrote a blog item several hours ago asking which feat would be the most memorable in golf history: Jack Nicklaus winning the 1986 Masters or Tom Watson winning the 2009 British Open?
Got me thinking. Regarding this week, which is the biggest surprise: Tiger Woods missing the cut or Tom Watson leading the championship after 36 holes?
Watson struggled mightily the first seven holes but scrambled to play the last 10 holes in 4 under. On the other hand, Woods played a six-hole stretch (Nos. 8-13) in 7 over including two double bogeys. Ouch.
