We may soon see more of Thorbjorn Olesen on the PGA Tour.
The 23-year-old Dane’s tie for sixth at the Masters pushed his season earnings to $632,300 – more than the money earned by No. 150 on last year’s money list ($474,295) – making him eligible for special temporary membership on the PGA Tour.
Olesen has 60 days to accept that special temporary membership, which would make him eligible to receive unlimited sponsor exemptions for the rest of the season.
Playing in his first Masters, Olesen shot 68-68 on the weekend to finish five shots behind winner Adam Scott. It was Olesen’s second top 10 in four career major starts, following his T-9 at last year’s British Open. Olesen, who is ranked No. 34 in the world, won last year’s Sicilian Open on the European Tour.
After a solo seventh at Bay Hill, Olesen was forced to withdraw from the Shell Houston Open because of injuries sustained in a car accident.
