Oosthuizen WDs Open with strained hip flexor

ARDMORE, Pa. – Louis Oosthuizen withdrew from the 113th U.S. Open on Friday. Oosthuizen's reps told Golf Channel the reason for the WD was a strained hip flexor.

The former British Open champion shot an opening-round 75, while grouped with follow South Africans Charl Schwartzel and Tim Clark.

He was the first player to withdraw from the championship.
