Jeff Overton was arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, public intoxication and disorderly conduct on Dec. 10 by Bloomington (Ind.) police, the Bloomington Herald-Times reported.
Overton was reportedly yelling at people from a limousine that blocked traffic in front of a bar and refused to provide identification to police. The 28-year-old PGA Tour player was released from the Monroe County Jail at noon on Saturday after posting a $500 bond.
According to the report, Overton was at the Indiana-Kentucky basketball game on Saturday and presented a $50,000 check to the university to support a Play Golf America program, which would've been five hours after he was released.
“I feel my rights were violated,” he told the Herald-Times. “I’m sitting in my own limo and got pulled out. Other than that, I’m going to let my lawyer handle it.”
According to the report Overton was arrested in Bloomington in December 2007 on a public intoxication charge that was dismissed when Overton enrolled in a pre-trial diversion program.
