DORAL, Fla. – Ryan Palmer shot 68 on Saturday, the third-lowest third-round card so far at Doral, to move into the top 30 at the WGC-Cadillac Championship and was greeted outside the scoring trailer by the PGA Tour’s performance-enhancing drug testers, serious looking folks who wear dark golf shirts and say little.
“Must think I’m juicing,” Palmer smiled.
Truth is Palmer said he finally found some consistency in his game after struggling for much of the early season.
“The first two days felt like I’ve been practicing,” he said. “I’ve been fighting with it but everyday I’ve found something. On Wednesday I found something in my swing and last night I found something with my putting. . . . Today was a big day.”
Which would explain the drug test.
