Lagardère Unlimited, the Paris-based management firm that entered the U.S. market with the acquisition of Gaylord Sports in 2012, seems poised to expand even more according to a report on Sportsbusinessdaily.com.
Lagardère is looking to expand its U.S. management business via acquisitions and executive hires. According to the report, Lagardère is in discussions with Jay Danzi, the agent for this year’s PGA Tour Rookie of the Year Jordan Spieth, and Crown Sports Management, the Sea Island (Ga.)-based firm that represents nearly 30 Tour players including Davis Love III and Brandt Snedeker.
Industry veteran Charley Moore is also close to joining the Lagardère group according to the report, which would expand the company’s presence in the U.S. to rival IMG and Wasserman Media Group, which acquired SFX in 2011.
Crown Sports CEO Mac Barnhardt declined to comment on the report and Danzi was not immediately available for comment.
