Party on hold for Rose

DUBLIN, Ohio – Despite his American breakthrough on Sunday at the Memorial Tournament Justin Rose will still be among a deep list of PGA Tour types who will play the 36-hole U.S. Open qualifier on Monday in central Ohio, cutting short any potential victory celebration.

“The U.S. Open is such an important tournament and I’m going to look at tomorrow as an extension of that,” Rose said.

Rose admitted, however, it will put a damper on a long-awaited celebration and, “I do like a good time,” he smiled.

Also in the field on Monday will be runner-up Rickie Fowler. The good news, however, he tees off at 8:20 a.m. (ET) at nearby Brookside Golf & Country Club, which means after a week full of early tee times and rain delays he can finally sleep in a bit.
