Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow has a spot in the AT&T National Pebble Beach Pro-Am if he wants it.
“There has been some discussion for a month or so between us and him,” said Ollie Nutt, President and CEO of the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, according to PGATour.com. “There is definitely an interest.”
Global Golf Post, citing unidentified sources, suggested that if Tebow were to play, the tournament would want to team him with Tiger Woods, who this week confirmed his return to the Feb. 9-12 event for the first time since 2002.
Nutt denied that was the case.
Speculation about Woods’ partner has centered on another NFL quarterback. Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo competed in the pro-am at Woods' AT&T National in 2009.
Tebow has experience inside the ropes, having played in the pro-am at the FedEx St. Jude Classic last June. If he could lead the Broncos all the way to the Super Bowl on Feb. 5, he would have a few days off before the AT&T.
