The perfect plan

RSS

DUBLIN, Ohio – Zach Johnson has a plan and not even a record-setting weekend at Colonial is going to change that.

Johnson – who traditionally takes the week before a major off, with the glaring exception of the John Deere Classic, an event that he is a member of the board, the week before the British Open – crunched the numbers and discovered that he played his best golf during his third consecutive week out.

As a result, he mixed up his schedule and decided to play Colonial, Memorial, St. Jude Classic and the U.S. Open. Winning last week at Colonial was a bit of a curve ball, but Johnson will likely stick to his plan and play through the U.S. Open.
