KAPALUA, Hawaii – Kenny Perry will turn 50 in August but isn't sure which tour he'll play more when he becomes Champions Tour eligible. He told me that it all depends on how his 2010 PGA Tour season is going. If he's playing well, he likely won't make the transition. If he's struggling, he just might take advantage of the remaining Champions Tour events.
Perry told me on Wednesday at Kapalua that he's 'slowing down.' This comes from a 49-year-old who nearly won the Masters last April. The Kentucky native spent his entire offseason with family. Last year was tough for him emotionally due to the loss of his beloved mother to blood cancer. Kenny, who is a renowned family man, brought 13 family members with him this week to Maui, including his teenaged son Justin who'll be caddying for him here this year.
