Perrys putting prize

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Thursday afternoon, following his opening-round 66 at Quail Hollow, Kenny Perry explained that his hot start was the byproduct of his switch to a new belly putter that he found at his house and put in play for the first time this week.

“When I first used it I was like, ‘Wow, where has this been,’” said Perry, who recently dug the putter head out of a drawer in his house.

Through four holes on Friday KP is 3 over par with nine putts. He may want to go back to that drawer.
