Peterson to donate to Okla. tornado victims

FORT WORTH, Texas – With relatives who live in Moore, Okla., John Peterson was watching Monday’s tornado devastation with plenty of concern – and vowed to help the cause afterward.

Playing in his hometown Crowne Plaza Invitational this week, Peterson will donate $500 for each eagle he makes and $100 for each birdie toward the ongoing relief efforts.

“It’s actually my cousin and her husband who live up there,” he said. “My uncle’s daughter lives up there. They were fine. She is recently married and they just moved up there six months ago. They are probably going to think about relocating soon. It was pretty sad.”

A member of the Tour this season, Peterson is playing his fifth PGA Tour event. He’s made the cut in three of his previous four starts, with a season-best T-8 at the Zurich Classic.
