The Evian Masters may not be a major yet, but the leaderboard has the appeal of one.

Some big names and compelling storylines fill the board.

South Korean amateur Hyo Joo Kim is among 14 players within three shots of the lead. Kim, who just turned 17 two weeks ago, is seeking to become the fifth amateur to win an LPGA event, the first since JoAnne Carner in 1969.

Count Hall of Famer Karrie Webb, Natalie Gulbis, Cristie Kerr, Paula Creamer, Suzann Pettersen, Shanshan Feng, Se Ri Pak and Anna Nordqvist among players within three.

Also, notably, Cheyenne Woods (70) is just five shots off the lead. She’s playing on a sponsor invite in her third LPGA event as a pro.
