Suzann Pettersen is within striking distance of more than a victory through two rounds of the Bell Micro LPGA Classic.
According to unofficial LPGA projections, it’s possible Pettersen can vault to No. 1 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings with a victory, but she needs help. Pettersen is No. 4 in the world this week. She can move to the top of the rankings if she wins and No. 1 Jiyai Shin, No. 2 Ai Miyazato and No. 3 Yani Tseng all finish fourth or lower. Those projections come with a margin of error until the strength-of-field formula's plugged in Sunday night.
Through two rounds, Pettersen's tied for fourth at the Bell Micro, Shin is tied for 13th, Miyazato tied for 23rd and Tseng is tied for 42nd.
