ORLANDO, Fla. – Suzann Pettersen has a mole on the greenskeeper's staff at Grand Cypress Golf Club, home to this week’s LPGA Tour Championship.
Pettersen, who lives a “five-minute drive” from the club and plays the course all the time, teases fellow pros that she's got some inside help this week.
“One of the guys who works here also does work for me at my home,” Pettersen cracked. “So, I have all the insight on the setup.”
Who’s her mole?
“I’m not going to tell you,” Pettersen said. “It’s my secret, but he’s on the greenskeeper’s staff.”
Actually, Pettersen said she’s avoided playing the courses of late.
“When the final week comes, it’s so intense, I don’t want to burn up my energy,” she said. “By the time Thursday comes, you want to be ready. You want to have energy. You don’t want to feel like you’ve played it a million times.”
