KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The PGA of America had its annual news conference on the eve of the PGA Championship, the last one with Joe Steranka as CEO of the organization. Steranka announced earlier this year that he’s stepping down after 25 years with the organization, seven as CEO.
PGA of America president Allen Wronowski said the association has hired RSR out of Connecticut as a search firm and they are taking their time identifying the proper candidates for Steranka’s replacement.
“We are already vetting through candidates,” Wronowski said. “There will be a meeting this week as we continue this process. We are moving forward.
“No timetables. Don’t want to make it too fast, too long. We will take the appropriate amount of time and really take a good look at where we are going to go.”
