ORLANDO, Fla. – The pain started long before D.J. Trahan signed for his third-round 75 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. At just past 5 a.m. Saturday Trahan was stirred awake by wrenching back pain. The day didn’t get much better from there.
Trahan, who pulled a muscle in his lower back two weeks ago and had to take the Transitions Championship off to rehab, said he was fine for Rounds 1 and 2 but was in so much pain on Saturday he almost withdrew.
“I didn’t feel like I hit the ball 75 times today,” said Trahan, who is tied for 12th at 4 under. “I feel like I should be sponsored by Advil as many as those things I popped.”
