After finishing T-25 at the French Open, including a final-round performance in which he said he made birdie putts of only 12 and 4 feet, the Englishman took to Twitter to tell his more than 1.5 million followers that he was “sacking” his putter.
The offending wand is the Odyssey XG No. 7, which you may recall is the same flatstick he used to break the Americans’ hearts at the Ryder Cup. He tweeted that it was “time for a change” and that he “needs a good visual” for next week’s British Open.
Poulter is winless this season and ranks 45th in strokes gained-putting on the PGA Tour.
