As for Robert Allenby, he admitted yesterday that if he experiences one bad turn on his right ankle he could be 'done.' He severely sprained it on Monday while stepping down from a curb on site. Allenby is certainly pushing his body to the limit in a chase for his first PGA Tour title in almost nine years. Let's hope, for his sake, that it's worth the gamble. I should remind you that in 2005 Allenby became the first Australian to win the Down Under version of the trifecta at the Australian Open, Australian Masters and Australian PGA. And he did it with an injured finger. The guy simply understands how to play through pain.
One other note for you: I slipped into a Sony production truck yesterday where some technically gifted people were testing the new 3D cameras for a potential debut in 2011. Imagine that, golf in 3D! It was an eye-popping experience. The images literally jump off of the screen and make you feel like you are right there. You can see the undulations in the fairways and greens. You feel like you can reach out and touch the golf ball. If this is the wave of the future, then it's better than any wave I've seen in Hawaii this week, and those are tops!
Be sure to join us today for the final round in Hawaii. The weather is incredible and the sights in high definition are truly stunning.
