Pressel reunited with lost clubs in time for Solheim Cup

PARKER, Colo. – Morgan Pressel beamed upon arriving for the Solheim Cup this week and finding her golf clubs in her room with a nice bow wrapped around them.

When Pressel left the Ricoh Women’s British Open nine days ago to join the American team for practice at Colorado Golf Club, her Callaway golf clubs didn’t make it with her.

“It was total panic,” Pressel said.

Pressel tied for fourth at the Women’s British Open. She arrived in Denver for two days of Solheim Cup practice with confidence and momentum, but unfortunately no clubs.

Pressel walked the course with her teammates in those practice sessions last week without hitting a shot. It wasn’t the preparation she wanted. She practiced all last week back at her Boca Raton, Fla., home with a backup set of clubs that Callaway shipped to her.

It wasn’t until Tuesday that Pressel was reunited with her lost clubs, which finally showed up at Denver International last week, after she left Denver.

“I left my clubs here so I didn’t have to worry about them,” Pressel said.

Pressel is a formidable Solheim Cup player, and the Americans want her at her best. She is 7-2-2 in her two previous Solheim Cup appearances. She was 4-0 in Ireland.
