DORAL, Fla. – International Presidents Cup captain Nick Price plans to meet with the potential members of this year’s team on Tuesday at Doral.
The meeting is expected to include about 10 or 12 potential International players, including world No. 6 Louis Oosthuizen and Adam Scott. Two of Price’s three assistant captains, Mark McNulty and Tony Johnstone, are also expected to attend the 6 p.m. meeting. Price hasn’t named his third captain yet.
Sources say the meeting is intended to familiarize potential members before the September matches at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio, and that Price will likely hold a similar meeting later this summer at the U.S. or British Open and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
The top 10 international players in the Official World Golf Ranking on Sept. 2 will earn a spot on the team, and Price will make his two captain’s picks on Sept. 4.
