Putter abandons G-Mac

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The biggest surprise through two rounds at Augusta National is neither the leaderboard, which features a pair of surprisingly inexperienced frontrunners, or the resurgence of Tiger Woods. No, the biggest double take belongs to Graeme McDowell, who missed the cut with rounds of 74-73 thanks in large part to a strangely cold putter.

G-Mac ranked last in the field through two rounds with a 1.94 average, but maybe the more telling statistic was his six three-putts. In five previous PGA Tour events this season McDowell had just seven three-putts total.
