Q-School Brutal day for Baird

RSS

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – After finishing 127th on the 2010 PGA Tour money list – two spots shy of keeping his full status – Briny Baird already has a lot of ground to make up in the next five rounds at Orange County National if he's to improve on his conditional status for next year.

Baird posted a 7-over 79 on the Crooked Cat course in the first round – which is playing notably easier than the Panther Lake course – and currently sits at the bottom of the finals pile in a tie for 160th.

Golf fans love a comeback, but in Baird's case, it'll have to be of super-sized proportions if he's going to make it happen.

On the bright side – at least he still has five rounds to make the ascent.
