Q-School Rooting for Woodland

RSS

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – Q-School finalist Gary Woodland didn’t have the most ideal preparation before today’s opening round. In fact, he probably couldn’t have dreamed up a worse scenario.

After completing his practice round yesterday afternoon, Woodland made an emergency visit to the dentist and underwent a root canal to fix an ailing tooth, as if Q-School week wasn’t tough enough already.

Impressively, even with a pair of bogeys and one double-bogey, the 26-year-old Kansas native carded a 1-under 71 on the Crooked Cat course and currently stands in a tie for 27th, with players still on the course and afternoon winds steadily picking up.
