Already largely defined by its struggles with Mother Nature, the 2013 PGA Tour season will again battle the elements this weekend in Charlotte.
For the second consecutive week, Tour officials have made the decision to move up Sunday tee times in the hopes of dodging inclement weather conditions. Players will now begin in threesomes off both the first and 10th tees for the final round at Quail Hollow, with tee times slated from 6:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. ET. Television times will remain the same for Sunday afternoon, with CBS scheduled to air the finale on tape delay from 3-6 p.m. ET.
Last week at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, final round tee times were similarly moved up in the hopes of avoiding approaching storms. Though players still faced two separate rain delays, the proactive measure allowed play to conclude Sunday evening, with Billy Horschel holing the winning putt on the 72nd green, rather than Monday morning.
