Rain forecast at Oakmont

RSS

OAKMONT, Pa. – Michelle Wie will be among players facing potential weather challenges in the afternoon at the U.S. Women’s Open.

A front is expected to reach Oakmont about noon.

The chance of thunderstorms is 30 percent at noon and spiking to 95 percent by 2 p.m.

Wie, who opened with an 82, needs to make some birdies to play into the weekend, unless rain postpones play today. Wie is scheduled to go off at 1:03 p.m. Friday. The upside to the forecast is that the steamy hot weather is moving out, with a high temperature of 80 degrees on Saturday. The weekend is forecast to be sunny and cooler.
