Rose gets call from Tony Jacklin

CROMWELL, Conn. – U.S. Open champion Justin Rose has wasted no time getting back into his routine this week at the Travelers Championship, following his opening-round 67 with a 68 to move into ninth place.

It seems the rest of Rose’s life is falling back into order as well, including catching up on all the emails and text messages he’s missed over the last few days.

“I don’t have voicemail, so who knows how many calls I missed,” he smiled.

Rose said he has responded to most of the text messages and will start on the emails tonight, but one of the best calls he received came on Tuesday from Tony Jacklin, the last Englishman to win the Open, in 1971.

“It was very cool to talk to him,' Rose said. 'He told me how impressed he was with my composure coming down the stretch.'
