Rose another star for Europe this season

Justin Rose heads into the weekend with a shot at winning for the second time in as many starts on the PGA Tour.  He also has a shot at further punctuating what has become a banner year for Europe.

Take a look at the Official World Golf Ranking:  seven of the top 11 are European Tour members. It’s easy for us to think that there is a huge talent gap between the PGA Tour and the boys from across the Atlantic but that simply is no longer the case. As a matter of fact, there are equal world ranking points available for this week’s BMW PGA Championship and the Travelers Championship.

After Graeme McDowell scratched the 40-year itch for Europeans looking to win the U.S. Open, I would be surprised if a player from the continent does NOT win at St. Andrews next month.
