Scott consistent but still without a major

Adam Scott

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – In a year when he failed to claim his first major championship, this may come as little consolation for Adam Scott, though it does speak to his improved consistency in the world’s biggest tournaments.

Of those players who made the cut at each of the four majors, Scott owned the best score in relation to par, netting a 6-under combined total.

“I just never really got it going,” said Scott, who finished in a share of 11th place at the PGA Championship after nearly winning the Open Championship one month earlier. “You know, it's a hard golf course and it was a grind. I didn't play my best. It makes it hard to get around.”

Scott previously finished T-8 at the Masters, T-15 at the U.S. Open and solo second at the Open Championship, where he was four up with four to play.
