SYDNEY – Jason Day grew up idolizing Tiger Woods and he often refers to a book on the former world No. 1 that motivated him during his junior days.
For the first time in his career Day will be paired with Woods for Rounds 1 and 2 at the Australian Open. Early Thursday his caddie/swing coach Col Swatton said Day is handling the opportunity well and on Wednesday Adam Scott offered his likely Presidents Cup partner some “tricks” to playing with Woods.
“I don’t get sucked into watching him hit shots and feeling inferior,” said Scott, who was advised by his former swing coach Butch Harmon to ignore Woods as best he could. “I never watched him hit a shot.”
