Scott: Tiger 'absolutely' will break Nicklaus' record

No morning-show appearance these days is complete without a question about Tiger Woods.

So it was Wednesday that Adam Scott, newly minted Masters champion, appeared on “CBS This Morning,” and after the expected inquiries about how it felt to break the Australian drought at Augusta and to clarify his relationship status, Scott was asked – for the 5,281st time – whether he thought Woods would break Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 majors.

His answer might surprise you:

“I absolutely believe he will,” Scott said. “I’ve learned in my career – and I’ve played through his prime the whole time, which has been hard because he was so dominant – but I never doubt what he’s capable of on a golf course. He’s just proven us all wrong so many times if you doubt him, and he’ll find a way to do it, for sure. I believe that.”

As for his own major ambitions, Scott smiled and said, “I don’t know if I’ll get to 18. But I’d love to get another one sometime.”
