Scott wins Barclays with less than best stuff

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Adam Scott already has Tiger Woods' former swing and former caddie, but after this week at The Barclays, he might have something else Woods possesses. That is, the ability to win with less than his best stuff.

Scott posted solid rounds in the first two and final rounds at Liberty National (69-66-66), but carded a very pedestrian 1-over 72 in the third round.

'I didn't feel like I played my absolute best golf this week,' Scott said. 'Certainly not with my third round, which was pretty average.'

Scott hadn't won again this year since the Masters in April, although he has been knocking on the door with five top 20s including a T-3 at the Open Championship and a T-5 at the PGA Championship.

'I think I've played a lot of good golf this year, and felt I could have won a few other tournaments if things went my way, and didn't.'

Scott joins Woods, Phil Mickelson, Matt Kuchar and Brandt Snedeker as the only players with multiple wins on Tour this year.

'It's big. I've really been trying hard and trying hard not to get frustrated when it has not happened when I've been in contention. So this does definitely mean a lot; to have multiple wins on the PGA Tour is a pretty good accomplishment I think.'
