AUGUSTA, Ga. – You wonder if there’s a dial somewhere in the Augusta National clubhouse.
Yesterday, those fellows in the green jackets had the dial turned to “thrilling and fun.” Today, the dial is apparently cranked to “ouch, this hurts.”
Just ask Sandy Lyle, the 1988 Masters champion. After shooting 3-under-par 69 on Thursday, Lyle shot 86 on Friday. That’s his highest score in 88 rounds played in the Masters.
