PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Jiyai Shin knows how to win 36-hole marathon finishes.
Shin did just that winning the Ricoh Women’s British Open last September, and she will try to win another in Sunday’s 36-hole finish to the Wegmans LPGA Championship.
“It was a great memory and also a great experience,” Shin said.
There was a difference, however. Shin took a five-shot lead into Sunday’s marathon finish at Royal Liverpool in the Women’s British Open. She built it into a nine-shot victory. She will begin Sunday at Wegmans three shots behind Morgan Pressel.
Shin is going for her third major championship title. She also won the Ricoh Women’s British Open in 2008, the first of her 11 LPGA titles.
