SI poll: 59 percent of Tour players support anchor ban

Fifty-nine percent of PGA Tour players support a ban on the anchored stroke, according to a Sports Illustrated poll.

A report stated that 70 Tour players were polled and a majority answered yes to the question, 'Should anchored putting be banned on the PGA Tour?'

The USGA and R&A announced last week that the anchored stroke would be banned under the Rules of Golf, beginning Jan. 1, 2016.
