Slocums wonderful case of amnesia

NORTON, Mass. – Heath Slocum’s 20-foot putt for par to win The Barclays Sunday will be replayed a lot in this FedEx Cup playoff run.

It’s a good thing, because Slocum has almost no memory of it.

“It’s pretty amazing,” Slocum said at the Deutsche Bank Championship Wednesday. “I don’t remember anything about it. Robert Allenby and I were just in the locker room talking, and I was like, 'I don’t remember it coming off the putter. I don’t remember really seeing it go in.' Everything just kind of blurred from that moment as it left the putter.

“Trying to just kind of go through it my head when I was lying in bed on Sunday night, just trying to imagine everything going, replaying everything, and I was like, 'That’s weird, I can’t really remember where the ball was halfway there or anything. Did it ever look on line?’ It seemed like it just got there so quickly.

“I remember being over the putt vividly, what I was thinking, what I was trying to do, but I think from the moment of impact to going in, it is a little unclear.”
