One quick way to get the field to notice a player is to post an ace. That’s what Brandt Snedeker did Saturday on the seventh hole of his second round at the Deutsche Bank Championship.
Playing the 16th hole, Snedeker made an ace from 161 yards.
The 1 on the card got Snedeker to one on the leaderboard, propelling him to 5 under for the round and 7 under for the tournament. After opening with two pars, Snedeker made three consecutive birdies before a par prelude to the hole-in-one.
Snedeker knows how to go low and has shown it very recently. He set the new course record at Plainfield Country Club last week in the Hurricane Irene-shortened Barclays by shooting 61 in the third and final round.
