Snedeker ready for first foray with Woods

LEMONT, Ill. – Brandt Snedeker tees off on Sunday morning at the BMW Championship spotting Tiger Woods seven strokes on a golf course that should be renamed TPC Tiger Woods. It is a tenuous situation, to say the least. Just don’t tell Snedeker that.

“If you’d have told me I’d be paired with Tiger Woods on Sunday I would have been OK with that,” smiled Snedeker.

Sunday will be Snedeker’s first pairing with the world No. 1 of any kind, but his swing coach Todd Anderson pointed out that his man played with Phil Mickelson last week at the Deutsche Bank Championship on Monday, and did pretty well during his final-round duel with Trevor Immelman two years ago at Augusta National.

Anderson said he planned to send Snedeker a text message Saturday night. The contents? “Just play Brandt Snedeker golf.” Translation: have fun.
