Sorenstam gives birth to son William Nicholas McGee

Annika Sorenstam’s foursome officially is complete.

The World Golf Hall of Famer and holder of 10 LPGA major championships gave birth three months earlier than expected Monday and announced on twitter that she and baby boy, William Nicholas McGee, are doing well.

“SURPRISE! I went into labor today & William Nicholas McGee was born at 6:33 PM,” Sorenstam tweeted. “I’m well. Will is hanging in there fine for being 27 weeks.”

Sorenstam sent the message via her Twitter account at 7:44 p.m.

Sorenstam, 40, married Mike McGee on Jan. 10, 2009 and Sorenstam gave birth to her first child, daughter Ava Madelyn McGee on Sept. 1, 2009. The couple announced that they were expecting their second child on Dec. 14, 2010.

'Thx to all for the kind words! A is great. Will needs a strong will, hence his name. He's ok considering, 2.12 lbs & in excellent hands,' McGee tweeted Tuesday morning.

The winner of 72 LPGA titles and 93 worldwide victories, Sorenstam retired from competitive action at the end of the 2008 season.
