Steele says Woods did not give full effort in final round at Torrey Pines

PGA Tour rookie Brendan Steele said Tiger Woods gave up during the final round of the Famers Insurance Open, according to an article in this week's Sports Illustrated.

'I don't think he gave it everything today,' Steele told SI. 'Once it started going in the wrong direction, I don’t think it had his full attention.'

Steele and Woods were paired together Sunday at Torrey Pines. Steele shot 2-under 70, while Woods posted 75 to tie for 44th. It was Woods' worst ever finish in the event.

Steele is a 27-year-old rookie from California. He finished sixth on the Nationwide Tour last season to earn his PGA Tour card for this year.
