Storms again interrupt Presidents Cup

DUBLIN, Ohio – Play in the Presidents Cup resumed at 5:45 p.m. ET Friday after a rain delay.

Players are allowed to lift, clean and place their ball for the rest of the round. That is allowed mid-round in match play.

It seems unlikely that session-two play will be completed today, with the last group playing the sixth hole and sunset scheduled for 7:10 p.m.

For the second day in a row, storms marching across central Ohio caused a play stoppage, with the weather warning horn sounding at 3:09 p.m. ET, about 30 minutes later than it halted play on Thursday when the opening-day fourball matches were delayed an hour and 22 minutes.

The Presidents Cup is the 23rd event on Tour this season suspended for various reasons, including fog, lightning, thunderstorms, snow, hail, sleet, frost, darkness and high wind.
