Stricker hearing hometown roars

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – There are Tiger roars. There are Mickelson roars. And now there are Stricker roars.

At least there are here at Whistling Straits.
When Steve Stricker rolled in a 25-foot birdie putt at the 16th hole Friday morning at the PGA Championship, it detonated an explosion of noise that alerted folks across the course than the Wisconsin native had just done something well. He continues to get enthusiastic greetings at every green and tee box he approaches.
