Stricker hunting big game

Steve Stricker won’t tee it up in a golf tournament until Tiger Woods' Chevron World Challenge in six weeks and then again a week later at the Shark Shootout, but in the interim he’s still thinking about bagging big trophies.

It’s deer-hunting season for bow hunters in Stricker’s home state of Wisconsin, and he’s spending a lot of time at the hunting camp he has on his farm there. Stricker has a home in Madison.

“Steve’s as intense about bow hunting as he is golf,” says Dennis Tiziani, Stricker’s coach and father-in-law.

Stricker’s re-charging his competitive batteries after a strong finish to this PGA Tour season, which included three victories and terrific FedEx Cup and Presidents Cup runs.

“I don't think Steve surprised himself at all,' Tiziani said. 'This isn't it for him. Steve has ambitions.'

On and off the golf course.
