AVONDALE, La. – Final-round tee times for the Zurich Classic will be pushed ahead about four hours earlier Sunday in hopes of dodging a few afternoon thunderstorms.
Players will go off in threesomes from the first and 10th tees from 7 a.m. to roughly 9 a.m. local time. The final group should complete play sometime around 2 p.m. CT.
The PGA Tour’s meteorologist calls for temperatures around 80 degrees Sunday with a 60 percent chance of afternoon storms, with winds about 10 to 15 mph.
Weather has already forced three late finishes this season – Monday finales at Torrey Pines and Bay Hill, and a Tuesday finish at Kapalua.
The TV coverage will be tape delayed: 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET on Golf Channel, then 3-6 p.m. on CBS.
