Superior Control Matters this Week on Tour

Power players may rule in golf these days, but the bunters beat the bombers last weekend on both the PGA and LPGA tours.
Zach Johnson and Ji Young Oh don’t overpower courses but showed their superior control matters.
Johnson, who won the Valero Texas Open, ranks 133rd on the PGA Tour in driving distance. Oh, who won the Sybase Classic, ranks 122nd on the LPGA in the same category.
Johnson showed some might averaging 295 yards per drive at La Cantera Golf Club, and yet he ranked just 47th on the week in driving distance. Oh found herself 40 to 50 yards behind long hitters Suzann Pettersen and Brittany Lincicome after tee shots in their final pairing.
