MELBOURNE, Australia – If one believes in omens, this certainly qualifies as a slow start for the International side at the Presidents Cup.
On Monday night in Melbourne, captain Greg Norman arranged a get-to-know-each-other dinner downtown. “I thought that was a good way to bring together the team camaraderie,” the Shark said.
On the team’s way out of the maze that is Melbourne’s busy center city the bus they were riding became wedged onto a curb. The entire team and entourage exited the bus and Norman, along with K.J. Choi, helped back the vehicle down a narrow road and onto a main thoroughfare.
“I felt sorry for the bus driver,” Norman said.
Although it sounds innocent enough, GTC is figuring this was some sort of team-building exercise to help bring together the eclectic International side.
