Tiger in the red in a playoff

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Tiger Woods rolled in a 5-footer for birdie, his second consecutive birdie, to move into red figures for the first time this week and within four shots of the lead with four holes to play.

John Maginnes, a former Tour pro and current XM Radio analyst, is starting to look like a prophet. Over coffee and a muffin this morning Maginnes figured a 4-under total would force a playoff that Woods would win.

If he pulls that off, expect the world No. 1 to lobby the game’s ruling bodies for scheduled Monday finishes, after consecutive Open victories on Monday.
