Tiger paired with Westwood, Poulter

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Tiger Woods will tee it up with two of England’s best, Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter, in the first two rounds of the Honda Classic.

The trio will go off the first tee at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday and on the 10th tee at 7:30 a.m. on Friday.

Westwood succeeded Woods as No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking in October of 2010, ending Woods’ record run of 281 consecutive weeks atop the rankings. Woods nicknamed Poulter “No. 2” after Poulter was quoted in 2008 saying golf would come down to “just me and Tiger” once Poulter reached his full potential.

In other notable tee times this week, rookie John Huh steps up in class in tee-time pairings, joining Masters’ champ Charl Schwartzel and three-time major champion Ernie Els in the group right behind Woods. Huh won the Mayakoba Classic last weekend.

In a “Youth isn’t wasted on the Young” group, Rory McIlroy, 22, Kyle Stanley, 24, and Keegan Bradley, 25, will play together Thursday off the 10th tee at 7:30 a.m. and Friday off the first tee at 12:30 p.m.
