Tigers woeful drives good for a giggle

DORAL, Fla. – Tiger Woods’ low nose-diving hacker's hook at the second tee ranks among the worst shots you’ll ever see him hit.

It barely reached 100 yards and didn’t pass the women’s tee box.

Graeme McDowell grinned when asked about it afterward.

“It’s pretty tough not to have a giggle,” McDowell said playfully. “We all hit bad shots, hit a couple in my time.”

McDowell said he hit a similarly bad drive when playing with Woods in Shanghai at the HSBC Champions.

“He gave me a bit of stick for that,” McDowell said. “But I made par, he didn’t.”

Mickelson followed Woods' hook at the second tee.

“It was difficult following that,” Mickelson deadpanned. “But it’s not really for me to talk about bad drives.”

Woods also got the attention of his fellow competitors with his infield fly rule pop-up drive with a 3-wood at the 14th tee.

'Tiger actually hit two tee shots I would say combined didn't go 200 yards,' McDowell said. 'A couple interesting ones . . . one of those anomalies, the guy is working on his swing and working hard.'
